Got a partner in Australia?
The Australian partner visa is for those couples wanting a more permanent move to Australia. The partner visa allows for spouses, de-facto and interdependent partners (including same sex) of an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident to apply for a permanent visa under the Partner migration system.
There are a number of options for the partner visa Australia. Usually a Subclass 820 Partner Visa is granted when the applicant is in Australia. This is a 2-year visa and qualifying applicants may be granted permanent residency after this period. Or, if the partner is outside Australia when applying, the correct partner visa is the Subclass 309.
Another potential option is the Subclass 300, Prospective Marriage Visa which allows a partner who is living offshore to apply for a visa, if they are intending on marrying an Australian citizen.
